I enjoyed my Father’s Day and I hope my other father readers did, too.
Woke up to a nice breakfast Kelly whipped up. She and the kids gave me cards and a gift. Then after breakfast we hopped on our bikes again to ride the greenways. We were all beaming when we reached our turnaround point of Lassiter Mill. Hallie was especially happy. Its obvious how much fun we have on our rides! I crushed the trails, too. I’ve gained a lot of strength from my simple, 30-minute-a-day rides.
Right after we crossed Anderson Drive road, we began seeing “Happy Father’s Day” signs posted along the route, somewhat like Burma Shave signs. Each one was written from a kid’s point of view and said thank you to the father for one thing or another. It was a really sweet and touching Father’s Day gift to someone’s special dad.
When we returned I had just enough time to hop off my bike and put on painting clothes. My friend Jason had invited me to paint an elderly neighbor’s house, so I spent the next three hours doing that. It was fun hanging out with him and his friends and the recipient of the paint job was sweet and most appreciative of our efforts. K brought the kids out for a moment to survey the work before they went on a several-hour playdate.
Came back to eat lunch, then began work on putting in a wiring conduit to my network wiring box. That task has been on my list for a while now. Far too much later, I finished it. Now I can easily add wires and cables.
It was a great day and a great weekend.
