Wow, what a week I just had. I had a sales presentation I had to complete for work, to be done in-between conducting two days of product training for customers. After work I conducted the East CAC meeting Monday night, attended a public hearing Tuesday night, presented at the Raleigh Neighborhood Recognition Awards Wednesday night, went to my first Parks board meeting as the vice-chair Thursday night, took Travis to his piano lesson Friday night and then attended a neighborhood party afterwards.
Then Saturday morning Kelly and I hosted Travis’s 6th birthday party at Lions Park. We then raced Hallie up to North Raleigh for her soccer game, after which we sent the kids on a camping trip with Kelly’s parents while we returned home with Kelly’s brother David and his wife, Anna. One nap later we were ready for dinner, so we walked over to the Market Restaurant on Blount street in Mordecai and enjoyed a tasty meal and beverages. After stopping by the chocolate place next door we walked back home.
Today we enjoyed breakfast at home before venturing north again, this time to Falls Lake to meet Kelly’s parents and the kids at their campsite. We watched a few skits put on by the kids and enjoyed the woods near the lake until about 3 PM. Then once we got home I helped Travis with his new train set and LEGO toys until it was time for dinner and bed.
Oh, and all this past week Kelly’s been putting in 10 hour days at the kids’ school running the school’s book fair.
I don’t think this upcoming week could be half as busy, fortunately. If this weren’t enough, I am now being courted to take on yet another leadership position, though I don’t think I could keep my sanity if I did.
Never a dull moment!
