An insanely busy week for me is almost over. Wow.
Let’s take a look at how things stacked up.
- Monday night – conducted the East CAC meeting
- Tuesday night – Parks board “Fees and Charges” committee meeting
- Tuesday night – Mordecai Historic Park advisory board meeting
- Wednesday night – Raleigh web usability meeting (I did not attend)
- Wednesday night – Raleigh CAC meeting
- Thursday morning – Capital Blvd stabilization committee meeting (and chat with police chief)
- Thursday night – chair my first Parks board meeting
Oh, and my day job is in sales and it’s been just as crazy there, too. And I fly out Sunday evening to Iowa for two days before joining the family for Thanksgiving.
It’s all good. I mean, I can handle short bursts of this kind of work, but longer term it might be fatal to me or my marriage. And some craziness in my job is most welcome, because I’m absolutely loving my job and whenever sales is crazy it’s a very good thing.
My new job is becoming so interesting that I’m starting to weigh how much time I have to devote to outside things. I had to pass up a chance to become chair of the Raleigh CAC last night due to all of my other commitments. Three of my most important commitments live with me, so I’m glad to have a few days off next week to relax.
