7. Vacation In Florida. The hits just keep on coming! Coming in at number 7 is our August vacation in Panama City Beach. Yes, with all that was going on, we actually found the time (and the money) to take a vacation. The Sterling Beach resort condominums were top-rate, a fact made all too clear by our choice to stay at the aging Commodore on our most recent trip.
There was a mischief-making invisible little friend staying with my brothers family on that trip. I nonchalantly polled random staff members, looking for hints of spooky information, but all seemed completely ignorant of it. Did this friend have some unique interest in my brothers’ family?
The week seemed too short, as usual. We ate too much, spent the days at the pool or Gulf, and enjoyed our posh condos the rest of the time. Hallie had a great time in the pool and on the windy beach. As for her dorky father, I accomplished the completely forgettable feat of posting from the beach after investing far too much work setting it up.
This trip was also the last time I saw Grandma, smiling next to the pool as we watched the kids splash around. Not a bad way to remember her, I think.
Its surprising that I didn’t blog more while I was there. Perhaps I really did spend some actual time outside having fun. And that’s the way vacations should be.
